It's raining.

Yes, a nice steady downpour at last. I'd tried everything to make this happen - pegging the washing outside every day, leaving the car windows open in the driveway, watering the plants (with a bucket) whenever the sky looked a little grey, washing the car (ditto bucket) and even planting the entire garden with drought-resistant natives. But no, it was the public blog-bemoaning of the Big Dry that seems to have done the trick - and just in time for the four-day weekend most Melburnians will pinch because of Cup Day on Tuesday.

If it reaches that far, I hope the farmers appreciate my efforts. They won't appreciate the level of sacrifice though - they don't get Cup Day holiday in the country.

I love reading your posts from the future...

It's still Wednesday here.

I will depend upon you for the weather forecast from now on...

That was me dancing naked.

Hahaha! OK OK so I did it Gypsy, but I was desperate, and wasn't planning to go public (Pubic?) with an admission of such brazen pagan nakedness. Besides, as Dale's now owned up too, it was probably her gesture of nude solidarity that did it anyway. Mind you, as I'm in the future, Dale, you must have done yours yesterday - or perhaps tomorrow - I'm confused now.

ps: Weather forecast for Dale -

It will probably be quite cold, windy and wet where you live, and if it's not snowing at the moment it soon will be. Better put some clothes on just in case.

Does that help?

Not me Gypsy - it's almost Summer here, so it's open season for naked dancing. Bit worried about Dale though. Frostbitten nipples are no laughing matter. Don't ask me how I know - just trust me.

that reminds me of a poem Margie, erm how does it go -

Watch out! Watch Out! Jack Frost is about he's after your nipples and toes!

Actually Neans, it's not snow, but salt water I have trouble with in that department - not ideal for an Australian beach-bunny (which I'm not, and that's why). A wetsuit helps, but not much, and I find it terribly difficult to scratch my nipples surreptitiously through a layer of Neoprene while looking as though I were born to the surf. Not exactly tres elegant ...

Blimey, Gypsy - do you? In Dandenong, or in THE Dandenongs? (There's a difference)

Sorry Dale - very slack here of late. Sunny 24degC here today, and back to Dry. For you ... um, snow and long-johns, I think.

Margie! You can have some of our rain with pleasure! In fact, PLEEEEZE have some of our rain..I'm shamefully jealous of your 24 degrees and ams developing an almost permanently crinkly mouth in the daily face of gloomy skies, wind rain and into your bones cold.

Anyway, enough of my moaning, I just popped by to see how you are doing. My self imposed blog ban is over, and although I'm still quite busy, it's on a manageable scale now, so I can start doing the rounds again.

Hoping you are well, if uncomfortably dry. Funny, I find that cleaning windows is usually a guarantee that it will rain, but it must be being really stubborn down your way!

Your post is starting to mildew, my dear. Time for a fresh one!

I just wanted to say how great that was that your daughter donated her money. You must have been so proud.

Sorry A-M, I know I'm a pathetic creature as far as blogging goes. It's just that when I sit down to write a post, i get sidetracked on everyone else's much more interesting ones, and I run out of time! Soon, I promise ...

Thanks for the comment btw - I was rather pleased with her.
