About Me
- Name: MargieCM
- Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Too private a person to be a good blogger! Happy most of the time, married with three fabulous girls, and a life filled with the sorts of great and ordinary things we all do. Life here is chaotic at times but rarely dull. Would love to find more time to write.

Oh Margie that's great! I love the look of dismay on the man's face! Is that how you feel?...Poor you!!
Here's a tip from one who already lives in a box and doesn't have room for more, never start clearing out stuff when you have a free day. It's always a bigger and more daunting task than you will ever have time for.
Do it when you are much too busy to worry about the amount and are only conscious of the time. You'll be amazed at how ruthless you can be with all that stuff you never use!
Apart from that, send some of it over to Koos. He loves hoarding 'treasure', and his boat is like Alladin's cave. In fact I've thought of re-naming it, but as it's already affectionately known as the Luxor triangle, I think that speaks for itself!
Hope you're feeling a bit better day, sweet Margie xxx
Thats my gypsy home there!!, I can see my caravan..
Oh poor you, hope you feel better soon.
I'm a bit worried about your wanted list though..spades, boxes and storage space..
Margie don't kill and hide yourself in some unknown shelf in a disused kangaroo abbatoir!!....
It's simply not worth it!.
Just hide in the clutter till you feel better than you can surface and sling it out with joy!..
I'll have a seance with Shirley Ghostman to raise the ghost of Skippy to come and rescue you..
leave it with me..
Skippy will be armed with a belated Birthday Greeting too..
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR LAST SATURDAY!!xXx..
Sorry you were ill for your birthday, you will have to make it up when your feeling chipper again..
Actually feeling pretty good now as it happens. Had a sleep this afternoon for a couple of hours, took some pseudoephedrine (or however you spell it), and went out to a work dinner where I sat with the fun guys and drank just the right amount of the healing red liquor. Many funny (non-work-related) stories and much hilarity over the Vietnamese salt and pepper squid. Place is still a mess, although the troops had cleared away the kitchen detritus in my absence.
Vally, thanks so much for your tips. I am heartened by the fact that Koos can live on a barge and be a hoarder - and here I am whinging with four bedrooms ,two living rooms and an office!
Gyps - if I'm ever going to stuff myself in a box, I'll make sure it's addressed to you. I'm sure you'd put me up for at least an hour or so before parking me at the local shelter. I'm wondering though - kangaroo abbatoir. I eat skippy meat happily. Are there dedicated abbatoirs, or do they just throw their lot in with the beefs? Either way, I want no part of the business end of it, boxed or unboxed.
Thanks for the birthday wishes - I have to admit, being quietly in bed for most of it was no bad thing. Quite decadent really. And I have discovered something. 48 is the new 48 - and that's no bad thing.
For gawds sake DO NOT post yourself to Gypsy, she will sell you on E-bay!.

Belated happy birthday my dear, I will raise a glass to you tomorrow night. I thought about getting you this, but they are temporarily out of stock.
Be lucky
Paul
aaaergggghhh!
I missed your birthday??? Whip me, beat me, take away my credit cards, I am a slouch!
Happy belated Margie! 48 is brilliant!
I do hope feel better, too.
I think Val is right... always do the sorting when you are under pressure to be efficient! Free days are meant for taking care of YOU.
I will be doing a lot of sorting myself with this move.... eep.
Oh Margie, I can sure relate. But guess that goes without saying when you live in a shoe box like I do!!

Belated Happy Birthday Margie!
Gypsy Noir is right! it is a rather suspicious list...The Movie Rear Window sprung to mind when I first read it...
Hope you're not up to anything diabolical!
p.s you're right...Kangaroo Meat is quite delicious when cooked the right way..if not it can be tough and gamey.
Luv
Neans
speaking of the consumption of native animals...have you ever tried crocodile? I had some once at Morusaki Japanese restaurant in Russel St a while ago..unfortunately all I can say about the flavour is that it tasted like teryaki!
I think eating crocodiles and a fair deal after all they can eat us!
Neans
Hehehe, this is a wonderful picture, and sums it up perfectly.
Though I am happy to see things have perked up.
And finally: belated happy birthday!

Margie, Happy belated!
There's lots of good advice here (Alfie's not least!) and I'm very glad to hear you're feeling better now.
Love the cartoon, too - it looks a bit like my basement does right now - but the first thing I thought of was Stevie sorting through eight years of accumulated stuff and moving it to her (their) new house...
Take care,
xo
Happy belated birthday!
To add to the advice: do one corner or room at a time, and then take many days off in between. Don't be afraid to throw it out.
xx
AM
Neans the movie i was thinking of was The Body Snatchers!..
Well eating Skippy, tut tut! (get it!) hehe..not eaten crocks neither but i have smoked weevils..
Margie!! Tollbooth has arrived!!!
Happy belated Birthday, Margie - you slobby Virgo you! (just joking, esp. since I too, detest house work and being a 'house wife' altho I adore being a 'mum'). I haven't been here in a while and just wanted to wish you a good one. Btw, since you don't warm to being a "Virgo", you may relate to a Chinese astrology interpretation better, you were born in the Pig year. Pigs are actually the nicest folks in the Chinese zodiac, in my opinion. Cheers...Heidi.
Margie, where are yoooooou? We miss yooooou! It's loud and rattly in here....sniff...
Oooh, sorry, it has been a while Vally. I have an hour or so today though so I will make it a priority to do my rounds of all your lovely bloggy places.
Now, catch-up:
OK Alfie I won't post myself to Gypsy just yet - I couldn't stand the ignominy of not attracting a single bid.
Paul, thank you and no problem - there is no more room here even for nothing!
Stevie, thanks, and I wish you well with the sorting and packing. Perhaps after all moving is the only way to do it. I won't take your credit cards though - one is quite enough for me.
Lesley - how do you do it??? Are you very disciplined or can you just hold your breath for long periods to make more room?
Neans - I love that film! Nearly fell off the edge of my seat the first time I saw it. As for crocodile meat, yes, I've tasted it once. A bit chickeny. Like you, I felt no guilt. Can't stand the things, though it's un-PC to say so. The thought of being dragged under the water in those jaws ... eurghh. No, pass the croc-pot and load up my plate!
Maria - I think the cartoon came out of an old "Punch" magazine. I love it. And thank you too for your good wishes. Hope you're enjoying your Autumn forest strolls.
Now Sindy, I like your thinking, but believe me, it would need to be one heck of a hole!
Rache, hi! Thanks, and you're right; lots of good advice here, which of course I shall largely ignore. Except for Alfie's. And I wish I had a basement!
Anne Marie - more thanks, and that is good advice. I do occasionally try it. I do. Really. Especially the days in between.
Gyps - the original or the remake with Donald Sutherland? Both terrifying, but I prefer the original (Dana Andrews wasn't it?). Sinister is always much better in B&W.
Heidi, lovely to see you again, and thank you too. I think I shall henceforth embrace being a Chinese pig.
And back full circle to you Val - have you started Tollbooth yet? I really want to know what you think of it. I will skip across to yours as soon as I have had a shower and got dressed and gone foraging for tonight's dinner and ... well, I'll see you there some time today.
Thaks again all for your good wishes and advice that would make Martha Stewart look like a slattern. I am heartened.
Margie, take a look at Koos's pictures and see if you agree..
Hi Margie, oh, you definetely have to be in the mood to clean up and go through things. I've made that mistake and ended up with messy piles around!!
Hi Margie
I heard my name echoing through your hall and yes, 't was Gypsy again, the adorable one.
Afraid I have no good advice for you. Not only am I a hoarder but I'm also of the photographic memory type: I know where things are in the heap and don't you change it or I'm lost...
Gyps - I've only just popped in for a moment, but did find the time to check out Koos' beautiful photographs and leave a comment. And yes, I do agree!
Grace, I think you're right, but somehow whenever I clean up it gets a lot messier before it gets tidier. Unfortunately, I often run out of steam between the two stages. Not so good.
Koos, see above, and over on yours. Just wow. I'm glad I have a fellow-hoarder, but can't claim the same ability to find things easily amongst the hoarded. Ah well, I'm going to have another go today.
Margie, I haven't started Tollbooth yet, as I'm in the middle of a great read called "Narrow dog to Carcasonne" about a couple who sail their English narrow boat over the channel and down through France. Total lunacy, but they did it. The book is very good and very amusing, but not much propaganda for water travel I fear! As soon as I've finished, I'll read Tollbooth and let you know.
Actually I did read the first page, and forced myself to put it away, as I found it instantly appealing!
criminey.. haven't those damn packages arrived yet? I think Bert is going to need some rehab when he gets back. Hopefully he hasn't given up all the packages to the prostitutes....
Maaaargeeeee where aaaaaaare yoooooo? S'meeeeee Sindybin.....I'se feelin wuff wivout yooo...wufff wuffff.....youz bin gone too long...s'not fair. Cum back soon...luv an lix sindybin xxx
Sorry folks - been away for a bit down the coast - it's term holidays here, so I'll be popping in and out of e-Range. Did you think I'd suffocated under the piles of stuff? Did you care? Ah well, one less sloth makes the world a neater place.
Val, I might have to look up the book you're reading - it sounds good. It's also the sort of thing Colin loves when he's giving his brain some space, which he doesn't do often enough. He's a hard-working boy. (Well, a hard-working 50-year-old).
Stevie, no sign yet, but don't fret - it will come, and meanwhile I've STILL got your goodies on the sideboard staring at me and begging me to pack them off to you, so don't feel too bad! If the Naughty Ladies of the Night have wrestled the packages from poor Bert, I must graciously bow to their greater need and improvise.
Sindy my darling girl, I have been to visit you now, and apologise for my tardiness. We hoomans are notoriously rubbish you know.
New post tomorrow if I can find the time!!!
Hi Margie
I know what it's like cleaning and packing up when not at my perkiest...
Thanks for your support.
