Life etc.

Sometimes I wonder why I persist with this - I apologise for absences, make promises and resolutions, then disappear for weeks at a time once again. Life. Such a sweet word, but a big one despite its single syllable.

I'm sorry I haven't responded properly to the comments on my last post. I have read and loved them all, but once I start typing the day disappears, so I've resisted the temptation.

Anyway, colour and movement - well, colour anyway. This is a very blurry photo taken just before Emma's 17th birthday party a few weeks back. Theme - Seventies (as if you couldn't tell). Madeleine's pants and brown wedge shoes were both pinched from my own current wardrobe. Sophie's suit and Em's dress (in splendid bri-nylon) are both vintage 70's outfits belonging to my best friend Clare, who was about the same age when she last wore them. I'm not sure which of these facts is the more scary.

Til next time ...

Sorry Mads, but the world needs to see how desperately unattractive you really are, and I'm afraid you'll just have to live with it. Besides, in the seventies, no-one looked their best, believe me.

Yes Dale, they are indeed my Angels. More or less. OK sometimes less, but they're still fab.

I for one think there's a very specific charm to the 70's style, something that had definitely disappeared by the 80's! But perhaps I feel that only because I was but 4 when the 70's ended and thus did not really experience the "real thing".

Oh Margie, I'm late again here, but have only just managed to keep up with my own blog this week. Seventies sensations is what they are!! And what do you MEAn about no one looking their best in the seventies. WE all thought we looked fabulous, groovy far out and the works. I just adored Bri Nylon at the time ;-) Even better were the psychedelic trouser suits with the gold chain belts and floppy hats. Ah nostalgia! Well, I think it's a lovely photos. Congratulations Emma, and I hope you had a fantastic party.

I love a good 70s party. When I turned 40, we did a "come as your favourite year of my life" themed party, and the afros and wide disco pants were the best part. I personally went for 1984 just so I could be like a virgin again.

Don't apologise for having a life, just enjoy!

Hi Margie,

Hope you are well and enjoying life despite the busy life.

Did you see The Who are coming to Australia? They'll be performing at the Australian F1 Grand Prix in Melbourne on 29th March 2009.
