Oooh, let's see now - how does this thing work again?

It's been so long I'm beyond the space where apologies would mean anything. Suffice to say, it is midwinter here now, and life is burbling along busily. Dramas have come and gone, crises weathered, work done and milestones reached.

What hasn't been done is a great deal of communication outside the square of day-to-day physical life, and I have missed blogland. Knowing my tendency for obsessive behaviour one way or another, I went cold-turkey on the e-front, with the result that I'm now so far out of the loop I qualify for alien status.

Thanks hugely to those lovely ones who enquired either here or by email as to whether or not I was still alive, intact, sane and healthy. All boxes are now ticked (number 3 is debatable, but then it always was). I will be around to make some visits soon, in a controlled, non-obsessive, disciplined and time-efficient manner.

Meanwhile, I am thinking of starting work on my first book; "The Good Slattern's Guide to Modern Living". It's going to be all about maximising pleasure, creativity and quality of life and minimising the unnecessary drudgery that gets in the way of it. I'm picturing a more intellectually vibrant and creative sort of slothful Nigella Lawson type, but without the cleavage, the domestic help or personal assistant.

Wotcha think?

Oh Margie, I can't wait to read it. It will undoubtedly become my bible, and of course my remedy for all ills both domestic and mood wise. I love the idea!

So very very glad to see you are back even if in a 'controlled' and responsible manner...hee hee...I dare you ......

Lots of love from us here to all of you there, and make sure you look after box number 3 xxx

Controlled and responsible, eh? What did you do with the real Margie?

Welcome back, my dear, and yes by all means, let's get to read a few advance chapters. MId-winter? The igloos have melted and we're just warming up on the other side.

Before comment, I must Google Nigella Lawson...

Back in a bit, hopefully all the more educated.

I think this sounds absolutely wonderful and I'm sure it will be an essential read for all for coping in the modern world in an intact, healthy and sane way!

It was immensely good to have you pop by my blog and it's good to see you after quite a while.

Aha, Margie... (as i return a wee smidgen wiser...)
I could probably use some guidance - from any source!

I also believe that alien status still qualifies in blogland.
I've missed you and look forward to your next burst of obsessive behaviour.

Oh, and you could keep the cleavage... why not?

Grace, if ONLY everything I did were terrific! Truly, I'd settle for the odd burst of terrificness. One has one's moments, but I suspect they are generally more of a good average standard.

Vally, box no 3 is doing fine thank you, as I've just had a week off, away from all stresses, responsibilities (well, most of them), major technology and urban nasties. It's school holiday time here until next Monday, so we've all been kickin' back a little. Alas, I've had no internet access for the past week though, and although that was good form a worky point of view, it meant no bloggy visiting, so I have more catching up to do. I haven't done any writing either, because Sophie pinched my old laptop to do HER writing on! I really admire her obsessive need to write; I am just too lazy by half. I WILL do that darned book yet though.

Anne-marie, you made me smile so much with that comment. Never fear, the old one's still here. I tried to abandon her in a carpark somewhere out the back of beyond, but she clung to the rear bumper-bar and refused to budge.

Dale, I can't believe there is somewhere in the world which has TV but no Nigella! How did you find the education process? I trust it involved photographs - do you really have to ask why I couldn't have the cleavage? Darling, if only! Alas, I am not nearly so richly endowed in either facial beauty nor bosomage per square acre. In terms of voluptuousness, she is in a class of her own. (Try googling "bosomage" and see how far you get!)

Maria, I'm glad you approve of the persona and the concept. I'm still (mentally) working on some refinements, but will keep you posted, and will keep coming back to see what you're up to.

Stevie, you really think so? As a newly-loved-up Domestic Goddess yourself, maybe you could give me a few tips? Can I borrow some cleavage too please?

Will venture out to all your pages on a proper visting trip tomorrow - dinner preparation calls, and the wok waits for no-one.
